Research Executive, Caucasian, natural born US citizen, F35-54, 15+ years, $120k/year. About 10 years ago I had to threaten to quit in order to get a raise, but it worked, and I got a 25%+ increase.

In response to above, myself and another team employee who also had many years at Nielsen and was a "money maker" for the company held out in signing our contracts for a raise. The sc-mbags in finance told our manager that if we didn't sing our contracts, the entire team would lose their bonus! Lol. So we signed. No raise. I was let go not long after that.

I left Nielsen and the media research industry a few years ago after taking an offer from a company in a different industry. At the time I left:

Sr. Data Scientist, non-Caucasian minority, natural born US citizen, M25-34, ~5 years, $92k/year.

My total compensation today is a 130% increase from what I made at Nielsen. That being said, I have no regrets working for Nielsen and I have no regrets leaving Nielsen. I certainly wouldn't be where I am today without the experiences and skills I gained from my time with the company. I do miss some of my former colleagues and it was a great place to work given where I was in my life and career at the time. Sad to hear what's been happening at this company, but sometimes goodbye is a second chance.

Depending on when you worked at Nielsen, say 85K a year could be worth over 100K today due to inflation. Did your job have bonuses? If so, how were bonuses set up?

I won't get too specific but I was a money maker for Nielsen for well over a decade...meaning I got clients to sign on the damn dotted line for millions a year in revenue. And I never cracked $90K in salary. Is that pathetic or what! I used to joke with friends that thought I worked in the "TV business" that I could probably have made more money actually selling friggin TVs at PC Richards. Fk Nielsen.

Nielsen asks people who sign up for TV Ratings their yearly income range. Nielsen likes doing surveys. Do you think they oppose surveys about employees' income?

It would be good to know if for example a female employee has been with Nielsen for over 15 years and is being paid under 100K a year. This data could be used to help determine if Nielsen might have glass ceilings for race or gender. For example, Cheryl Grace sued Nielsen for racial discrimination and not being promoted.

I imagine if someone gets laid off, it wouldn't really matter to then if they post their salary details for this survey. Also it would be good to know what jobs are being laid off at Nielsen.

Feel free to post your job title then. For example, if you are a senior data scientist, post that too.

Salary Transparency only works if everyone was doing the same job.... I am a woman that is in the same age bracket as David Kenny, should I be getting the same salary? I have been with the company longer.
