Does VZ allow retirement-eligible employees to decline a rebadge so they can be treated as if it were an involuntary separation and retire effectively, preserving all the retirement benefits?
Hopefully someone here has first hand knowledge.

@an yes it was, which is why the rules were changed. Read the updated document.
@am I believe the rebrand process occurred during the VSP of 2018 and was affected by it.
That depends on the situation. You can always retire when eligible. The question is do you get to keep the severance benefits. The rules were changed with the Infosys rebadge of 2018 because almost a 3rd of those affected were retirement eligible. You can find the information you seek in the severance documents on NetBenefits. In our case, the answer was yes.
I sure hope so. I would take a snapshot of that page and keep it safe before HR changes it.
