Some Macys employees have been told if their store closes they will receive severance pay that may reach $10,000 or more. Is this true or is it a ploy to keep employees to stay at Macys?

After 2 years of service it’s the same payout….
OOM told us a few months ago because their brother is a store manager a couple towns over.
@an 1 weeks pay for every year worked. 4 weeks min, 26 weeks max. There is additional lump sum given if you have insurance through the company for you to put toward paying for the temp cobra insurance for 3 months.
Is there anyone who worked at a closed store who can confirm they received a severance pay?
