Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are you inspired or motivated this morning ?

Phrases like “focus on the customer” or “deliver quality” are hard to disagree with. They’re safe bets that no one will push back on, which helps them maintain a kind of neutral, leadership-friendly tone. Two of the execs sitting today don’t have new ideas, or they’re just playing it safe politically. It’d be refreshing to hear something real once in a while, right?

Who's the customer? For most people in the company is one random internal team and it's hard to see how anything you do connects to anything someone out of the company wants. Quality? Most of us simply report nonsense upwards even though we know is cr-p because that's what management wants. Everything is always green yet things keep getting worse. How many meetings did you all attend this week with more than 20 people and only 2 of them talking? How many decisions where made in all those meetings? Have you seen significant progress in any of your projects in the last 3 months? Does your manager understand any of your real OKRs (not the fake ones you put there just to keep your manager happy)? How many other people in the company do you think that they have the exact same job that you have and don't understand why? When was the last time you felt inspired by a real leader within the company? How many of your most talented colleagues have left in the last few years?

@an it’s not worth the fight.
These swamp creatures won’t budge an inch.
Save yourself some grief and join a real company.
The grass is definitely greener.

@ak+1jsptj37c entitled fools like you are the reason Intel is in the dumpster.
We need 5 days RTO.
40% layoff.
Top talent has already left. What remains is fat, bottom tier that has no options. They need to be wiped in shape.

The only people that are motivated are the ones who reap the benefits of your job going to Malaysia.

What I like about MJ is she is pretty good about answering the question directly not to much BS. Unlike Mr. Tan the BS he just fed us, he said the need to listen to customers yet he totally ignore the employees (clearly, we are not considered customers to him )about RTO. I think some Jobs definitely need to RTO. But other jobs are more independent , also, cross site you’re sitting in a teams meeting anyways .where focus without office distractions helps a lot of us execute. I am also not sure how taking away every single perk that Intel had is going to bring in top talent. All Intel has is low stock , low pay , very little bonus and no perks anymore. The top talent is gonna go to companies that offer them good money, and good perks. And they have been as I have been watching my coworkers leaving in droves this last year. Tan offers all kinds of things he wants to happen at Intel but very little solution on how to get there. Besides, let’s lay people off. He is correct and that he wants to delight the customer and the customer to him is the stockholder and making himself money on investments. His reading of teleprompters wasn’t a good look. At first, I was excited about this new CEO thinking he could turn things around but the direction of let’s give employees, the stick and no carrots is going to tank intel. This makes me really sad as I have spent more than half my life working for this company. I think CEOs are completely tone, deaf to employees, The cost of living , people are struggling to survive financially I would love to see all CEOs have to live within the means of the regular people income for at least one year so they can have a reality check on regular employees.

Do it right the first time. Quality is job 1. Think. Motivation by catchphrase for dummies. It would be honest is he said, “ ask yourself, what have i done today so the ceo gets his millions in payout?”

MJ is the one with an IQ of 165, and consequently, she should be running Def Met.

I’m very inspired. My resume isn’t going to update itself. That’s the inspiration they wanted to create too

MJ is the one with ideas, she's tied into culture, she is out to get stuff done. We lose because we didnt promote her as CEO.
