Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Merry Christmas trolls!

My gift to the trolls who are allegedly still on the payroll and who have super important jobs with retention bonuses in the hundreds of thousands but who decide to spend their time posting negative comments on this board is a dose of cold hard truth:

Verizon lost 347,000 wireless postpaid customers up to Q3. T-Mobile had 4 million net adds and AT&T had roughly 1.2 million net adds in the same period.

The general consensus is that price hikes and high prices are driving customers to look for better deals. Customers accurately perceive that Verizon charges more for service that is no better than the competition’s. This has nothing to do with the rest of us being whiners or Debbie Downers or DEI or the other nonsense you’ve been spewing.

And finally you’re supposed to be doing more with less so stop spending time on this board and get back to work! Chop, chop! Dan Schulman’s minions are watching you!

@am Verizon wireless customer service was as bad in the 1990's going back to bell atlantic mobile. The only difference was, They had second level support, NRB or local techs off the switch the calls were hitting to check. Not off shore problem at all. They all read from the same script

@am Some of the US call centers for wireless were closed down around 2016-2017. The NRB which was responsible for triaging customer technical issues and escalating to the local engineers was severely downsized around the same time. These cost cutting measures were taken during the reign of Hans the Great. VZ wireless was much better than the competition at addressing customer complaints before that happened.

No better? Try worse. For 5G we are ranked 3rd in network quality and reliability.

The last vestiges of the phone company are gone. Phone company’s a phrase we stopped using a long time ago. But when it was the phone company, they were all about customer service. It’s not only the rising Verizon Wireless rates that’s losing us customers, but also the customer service or lack there of. You get people overseas with heavy accents that you can’t understand. If your problem isn’t in their cue card/flow chart list, all you’ll get is frustrated. Bob Smith calls in: “Have I resolved all your issues Mr. Bob?!” Probably not. The customer service and billing for fios is also atrocious. But keep offshoring and the trend of losing subscribers will continue. I’m a Vz employee with over 20 years as a Vz Wireless customer and I remember how good the customer service was. It’s too bad none of our corporate masters remember.
