I worked as an airline pilot for a major US for 15 years before changing careers to be an account manager at EMC and then DELL. What a sh-t decision in hindsight. I need to get current on an aircraft type again. To anyone who is planning on this, don't ever do it

@b2+1jzndgtjh - because we aren't id--ts and understand aviation? We know how hard it is to get a pilot gig with a major airline.
People dream and don't typically walk away from those jobs - especially not to work at Dell. With seniority, you're flying gravy routes, making $500k+ a year. With no seniority as a first officer, you're still likely making more than Dell, dealing with less stress, and doing something you enjoy. It's a weird decision
I don't know why people are calling you an id--t. Nobody knows your situation. You live and you learn. Good luck to you.
@OP Fly away! You got to live a real Dell Dumpster Fire. Best of luck on piloting.
@am I'm the OP. I'm actually an id--t I'll admit. One of the few regrets in my life.
That was a stupid decision unless you were flying regionals making $35k a year. If so, you're probably making more money and at home more frequently working for Dell.
if you quit a pilot or copilot job at a major, you're an id--t.
I'm the opposite actually...I was on the UPS account team, flew as a hobby and made connections through UPS and ended up as freight pilot.
