Notice incoming on June 4th according to my manager. Can't say I'm surprised or disappointed. Probably going to accelerate the process actually. Fun times I suppose. Happy to have received that bonus.

Boeing didn’t take a bail out they wanted to stay free of government control. I feel for people losing jobs but if no ones buying planes you can’t just keep building.
I thought we bailed out Boeing to save jobs? Instead investors are bailed out and the engineers are headed for the exit. Bankruptcy would have been the good thing... its a process of receivership to creditors. Bad owners lose their ownership. Bad managers lose their jobs this is true. But, the new owners don't value empty office space and cubicles. They would have valued the workers and products and saw that these flowed through the factories. I don't understand the fear of a process which was one of the most inventive things the US ever did.
On a personal note, I was turned down by Boeing, when I was a young engineer. I considered Boeing arrogant and kept my distance. The errors made in the MAX design are elementary, the concepts you failed to address are in undergrad dynamics courses. The brand is gone. When I am reviewing applications, I'll do my best to not hold your experience at Boeing against you, just make sure you learn the human emotion of shame.
