Was planning on working 2 or 3 more years to add a little extra financial cushion to my retirement but decided it's not worth it. They've sc--wed us over in every way imaginable over the years and I'm convinced it won't get any better. I'm soooo looking forward to giving my notice as soon as RRP hits my bank acct Friday. Hopefully me leaving will save someone from being RIFd that needs their job more then I do. Good luck everyone.

Enjoy the good life. Just think of the poor schmucks like below who will be chained to a desk until discarded still trying to put on a grin while eating optum sheet. Then you grin and thank God you are out.
Radiology 1% pay increase. How disappointing. Workplace has too much change. Too corporate
@ak The peacocking happening now is so annoying!
@OP obviously do what’s best for you and protect your peace but don’t delude yourself that you leaving will save anyone else. The cuts are going to keep coming regardless of your sacrifice. Maybe ride out the last 2-3 years, make them come for you, get your severance AND unemployment. Nothing says you can still do the minimum and help out those who deserve your support and not one bit more that wouldn’t be appreciated.
I'm weighing the same thing. It's not just the lack of raise and low bonus. It's that with no raise and a cut in the 401k match, we actually got a pay cut this year. And these constant pep rally townhalls are ridiculous.
I did the same thing. I was going to continue to work for another year but during a minor emergency with a new manager the lack of empathy in her tone, watching her burn out her team all under the pretense that she was one of them, mind you most of her team were new less than 6 months and on survey had the biggest burnout rating , and she said stuff like we have rules, and compliance. During that moment I realized after more than 10 years with this toxic company, watching everyone and their mother break and defraud, going thru multiple toxic managers basically 12 , I could not work one more day for another clueless person just so she could impress leadership and get a big bonus.
This company is beyond toxic. Most managers is looking out for themselves only. Steve H - 2nd part is going to be a big disaster
congrats OP - if you're able to escape this toxic cesspool with no financial worries then save yourself. I truly wish I could leave now too, but have to stick it out a little while longer. Just make sure your bonus is in the bank before you drop the hammer.
That is very thoughtful of you, having been RIF'd, its sad because when it happens you would be surprised at how many people grovel over one another and throw each other to the wolves to save themselves. You are someone with integrity, hold your head up high on your way out. This company is sinking!
There are usually a number of people leaving after bonus time. I suspect even more this year as unvested equity awards that serve to keep people around aren't worth much anymore given stock crash. Brain drain will accelerate imo.
I think you are making the right decision, unfortunately staying working in those conditions could ki-l you. And getting over from the burn out will take sometime to heal, like is happening to me.
@a2 What because they wont work overtime or kiss a-s? Maybe if Optum paid employees enough those people would try harder. Pay for performance, remember? Well no pay increase = no performance.
hope you're not on my team or the teams we work closely with. we're so shorthanded as it is and the last few people we brought on don't compare at all to the people who left.
Can you let us know what part of Optum you are in?
