Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Read the FAQ

Reads that everyone needs to comply. Or what? What are the consequences of just doing what we're doing when hitting your KPI's.

PIP's? Productivity will drop for everyone if everyone needs to go back to office, and remote is the only way to restore productivity.

The lottery of being 1 hour or more from a Dell office, by foot, car, bus, as the crow flies?

Most offices can't support all employees returning at the same time, got to be some insurance and health and safety questions on this.

I'm not adverse to returning to the office as hybrid, but 5 days, 2 days more than what it was pre-covid, is too much of an impact to my life post-covid. Any "above and beyond" I gave to my job and Dell through loyalty and integrity with be erased when none of this is shown back. The flexibility and trust got the best from me, take that away you'll get a 8-5pm Dell bot that'll take their breaks, finish on time and will speak up, along with everyone g else, that their workload is too high.

2025 will be the death of Dell.

Work something out with your boss. It's falling on to them as to how it's implemented and enforced, in typical Dell m.o.

What a naive worldview.

I will trundle into the office as ordered. But bah gawd, my work is going to plummet. I'll be optimizing "human interaction", "in-person connections", and "stronger culture".

Note that none of this has to do with day-to-day tasks, so those will be backburnered. Please come in prepared with plenty of chit-chat topics so we can all meet the new expectations.

I don't know about everyone else's teams but our kipi's are a total joke, even the top performers on the team don't come close to hitting them. Our manager even admits they're unrealistic, but they have no power ti change it.

This is all about control and cost cutting. They want people to quit so they don't have to pay them severance.

Look, this is pretty simple. The company offers you a wage and dictates the teams. Accept them or don’t. That part is up to you. But if you take the company’s money, then abide by the terms.
