Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The reason for his departure…

…stock options are vested and under water.
Expect more.

“Christopher Smith, who has led Ford’s global efforts on legislation, regulation and government policies worldwide since 2022, is expected to depart the automaker, according to people familiar with the plans who asked not to be identified revealing internal matters. The reason for his departure is unclear, though one of the people said it’s expected within weeks.”

@ym

Well I guess you know what you need to do now. Hope you're working on it. At least to prepare for when management fails and they blame GSR's again. A year of unemployment seems pretty standard right now before finding something.

@ym I treat Ford stock as an easy stablecoin for sniping juicy Tesla positions

F stock - 13.93

GM - 86.38

F is laughable, holding on by a thin thread. If I had FU money, I would leave too. Office life is like District 9.

The reason fir his departure? Why speculate? No one cares anyway. We all forgot you were here. You may leave now.

@ff Does his work make him a bad person? If so, most of us are fu---d for feeding this evil corporation.

@fr How is Christopher a victim of the company? Am I not speaking clear English? What makes him a good person? And how is him departing a bad thing?

I really liked this guy, hopefully things work out for him. Hate to see bad things happen to good people. Another victim of the company.

@c9

Maybe the plan is still "in" effect, it has had no effect.

Once again junior..it helps if you understand math. You keep coming back for more. You're pretty dim.

I don't think we know the reasons. But ultimately it's either his fault or his choice to not be part of the best leadership team in this business. With the company Transformation Plan still in effect, I know where we all should want to be for an exciting future.

@aj I'm not sure that's the reality of it, although I recognize how people may see it that way, you might want to ask a friend in government affairs what really happened, they'll likely give you the right answer.

Surprised. Ford tends to have trust issues with their talent. Might not have been talent. They accuse you of cheating on them and spiral before the vesting is over. Reality is they were trying to cheat on you and take advantage. I think Christopher probably knew better and wanted to lean his hands.

Ford’s self-serving upper management enriched themselves off EV handouts. Now the trough is empty, and they’re scrambling.
