Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

Anyone know if financials is gearing up for layoffs?

Title says it all.

There’s some really strange restructuring that’s making very little sense. Poor customer retention this year. Internal and external auditors evaluating engineers specifically, that I’ve heard of. Lots of resources being directed to other projects/departments.

There will 100% be another layoff at some point in Q1 2026. I promise you. 2025 was mass India hiring and knowledge transfer to them. This took most of the year. At least they have the decency to wait until after the holiday season this time. I am bracing for a lot of engineer cuts, as these employees cost more and lots of the India hiring was engineers precisely for this reason. The auditors evaluating engineers comment further backs up my theory.

@hq, engineers have been hiring and training India all year. Lots of Nagarro contractors gone each month. Now it's time for the full-time employees.

Good luck, hope they have the decency to give at least 3 months severance. Last time was 2 months which is pathetic especially given the job market they are dumping you into.

Looking at the volume of open jobs in India vs the US makes me believe it won’t be a traditional layoff, but a “Congrats! You can train your replacement before we fire you unceremoniously.” Given the huge move to India as a % of employees, when will one of the ELT get a RIF? Right? Ha! For sure some BS coming soon.

Anyone care to elaborate more on the auditing of engineers rumor? How are they evaluating engineers? Lines of code and how many pull requests you successfully merge? I've always assumed they tracked that stuff anyway and worked hard accordingly, but...

...at this point I've accepted I'll probably be laid off due to the mass India hiring no matter how hard I grind.

Good luck.

There will be a layoff in the next 6 months I am 100% certain. Numbers and impact will always be a mystery. I would not be surprised if it happens right after the holiday's.

This post is making me nervous, only because recently our engineering manager asked our team a certain question which heavily aligns with the "internal and external auditors evaluating engineers specifically" comment. I am seriously concerned now.

Frankly I'm always wondering when the next layoff will be. Even though we just had one earlier this year I wouldn't be surprised if they did another one before the holidays because fu-k us.
