Intel shut out again.
Looks like Intel dodged a bullet on that one.
Add Samsung to the AI crash list.
It's going to be a bumpy ride.
Possibly the only thing worse than not getting the Tesla contract would be to get the Tesla contract.
@bc efficiency means output per person-hours.
Not more hours.
@aj facts. Intel engineers complain about how they work so hard cause they had to browse a couple SPC charts or attend se meetings (from their bed). It’s not even close to level of hours/work that Asian employees at Samsung + TSMC are doing.
Musk said he wants to walk the line personally to improve efficiency. RIP those poor samsung employees.
How bad your company reputation can be if you’re beaten by Samsung for a Tesla contract.
Clearly Tesla avoided the Intel dumpster fire.
Samsung and its employees work 2X harder than Intel, and they work toward the highest levels of quality. The Samsung employees are the best in the world and most of the current Intel employees would not last 1 week working for Samsung, or TSMC for that matter. And those statements are NOT "hate" - they are the simple 100% truth.
That plant had no customers, so you know Tesla got the wafers at or below cost.
Also, as he noted, the plant is next to his house and the other Tesla plants.
Now that’s a real missed opportunity to get two companies together who can’t make anything on time or without defect. Intel and Tesla would’ve been perfect together.

Samsung agreed to allow Tesla to assist in maximizing manufacturing efficiency.
This is a critical point, as I will walk the line personally to accelerate the pace of progress. And the fab is conveniently located not far from my house 😃
