Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Imagine if UHG and Optum simply announced upcoming layoffs internally on SPARQ instead.

A month ahead of the RIF, just give everyone a heads up on which orgs will be affected. That way people can budget accordingly and the rumor mill doesn't cause worry and panic across the organization.
And, we could tamp down on false rumors that people outside of the organization are reading.

how can they notify in advance the lists afre not final till the night before or morning of. Usual thinking on layoffs is if not affecting your group no need for you to know. If you work with them and they are gone but not in your immediate org chart email will bounce " not authorized to send to this recipient". You can double check in nslookup page and see if msid locked. Or like former OI CEO poof no record of her existence anywhere

Yea, that wouldnt cause any lack of productivity. The notice would always be up because they lay off every two weeks.

@ah The WARN Act only applies when 50 or more people are impacted per site. Careful planning keeps the layoffs off the WARN radar and it doesn't apply to remote.

Tariffs sunk margins on providers, Medicaid cuts and Medicare crackdowns mean an expiration date on large parts of, if not all of, Optum. The business plans are about getting payments from individual consumers whose pay has stagnanted and average life savings is $500. Good luck collecting.

They legit don’t even know who gets let go until the upcoming payroll hits and the numbers are in the red.

It’s called the warn act and your company does not adhere to any rules or regulations .
