Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

LIED TO AGAIN!!!

259 ISP’s. Not exactly the “100” ISP’s they told us to expect. For those who said yeah but they said it would be 100 “roles”. BS. That was just corporate speak to disguise the real numbers. If they are so transparent, how come they didn’t publish the number of demotions??? From this thread, it seems like there have been quite a few… Yet another way to disguise the numbers.

@OP numbers will come out. It's a little more complex. One department was completely gutted which was over 200 people. so your numbers aren't even right. Just wait.

259? That's it? That's what everyone was worked up over? So about 3%? Those are rookie numbers

@b6 thank you. I’m just so heartbroken and don’t even know where to begin. I started here as an intern in college. This firm is all I’ve ever known. I had to fight my way to get where I’m at and it feels like it was all for nothing now. At one point, I was leading a team of 12 contractors while also manning the phones while at a pay grade 6. This was their “gift to me to help me on my path to leadership”. I was working 50+ hours a week for over a year until I realized I was actually being taken advantage of. I really worked on my development with not much support at all from the firm or leadership and finally made it to a level 10 two years ago. I was finally happy and felt I was where I belonged, just to have the rug ripped right from underneath me and made to feel like I was as never of any value to the firm. Not a single thanks for my years of service or contributions. PP and her Board of Protectors are a disgrace and have completely dismantled Ted’s vision for the firm. I have no doubt it will be going public because Penny says loud and clear that it will never happen - and given her track record of blatant lies, I think that means it’s already on her agenda.

@ah Please don’t feel that way about yourself!! I guarantee you the only reason you were ISP is because you’ve been here 20 years. They want all veterans gone. They want cheaper younger labor. They want the “new face of Edward Jones”. They are not interested in us. I am a 30 year veteran and took the VSP. I felt disheartened by the low number of ISPs as well… Until I realized if I wouldn’t have taken the VSP, I would’ve been ISP for sure. There are a LOT of us veterans in the same boat as you!! The real number is 1061 (259 ISP + 552 VSP + 50 GP + 200 OPS ISP last year)!!! Not to mention the 10% of folks who were demoted. If they would’ve declined, they would’ve been ISP as well. You are not alone, far from it! This is all nasty games being played by PP!

@a8 and why would they have made such a big to do over ER when less were laid off than Ops? It's bizarre. 6 months of low productivity with everyone sweating it out over job security all for such a small number.

Here come the impossible goals and the PIPs when we aren’t willing to work 80 hours per week to deliver features we didn’t have time to test.

I’m actually more humiliated now knowing it was “only” 259 and I was one of them. Tells me they must’ve really wanted to get rid of me after nearly 2 decades. The depression is feeling insurmountable at the moment.

Notice how nobody talks about the Operations layoffs that happened last year before E.R...why are those 100s of associates not included in these layoff numbers?

Another lie should not be shocking. They don't value us enough to be transparent.

More than double what we were told. As usual, ELT lies.

That seems so low given how much build up there was!
