Had some coworkers who were impacted today in finance organization in NYC
Had heard some rumors and assume mostly risk and tech, but guess finance is on the chopping board too....
They were great coworkers too...

Layoffs in 388 Greenwich today - July 29/30 2025. Multiple tech roles eliminated.

My group just hired 8 new people. One new hire team came to me to beg to give some of my work to them because no work for new hires. I m a IC in different team with low pay. What are the purpose of all new hires decision? So confused, is Citi trying to waste money by play team work? Sp-t one job to 3 roles to see if we can work as good as one person?
FP&A increasing being moved to Mumbai. What could go wrong?
And the warn can be delayed because the people laid off are still technically employed for a while (they are getting paid with their packages and not technically unemployed).
If you've been checking this Layoff Site long enough you would have known that Finance Layoffs happened this year in March 2025.
I know some of the Finance employees laidoff.

Canada got impacted too, 2 people I was closely working with got their contract terminated
@OP most of layoffs are from US locations only ? Is other sites get impacted??
