Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Light at the end finally

Crown always had the wrong people in charge. Maybe now someone will see the value in fiber.

Didn't Zayo drop Rapid (microtrench) 4 years ago except on campuses similar to Google Fiber dropping it as a main installation process? Makes me smile when someone said that Zayo wanted CF for Rapid.....

That's like saying Tower wasn't the golden goose that Jaby used for his fiber adventure. See what happens when billions are burning holes in your pocket. To bad the board was hitting the Purple J#$@$ juive in Houston and bought the idea of a plan.

Crown kept and let the acquired companies staff run the show. Clearly the issue was in the people. No one has to worry now though since zayo will know better and cut them.

Crown had no business buy a fiber network. they had no clue how to capitalize it nor how to manage it. glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel and finally work under a true fiber company. needless to say the culture of the workforce falls in line with "do-nothing" , entitled and full of themselves nepo babies that can't do anything but bs desk work that will soon be taken over by AI. there will be purple sparks on my firepit this spring

Yea they took the hit because that’s how bad the fiber business su-ked. Thank goodness…

In all seriousness though this is a pretty ideal deal. Isolate SC from Fiber.

EQT small cells is going to be like OG crown and anyone in small cells should be happy.

Anyone staying with the fiber possie… rip

@ah+1jp8nebsw Then zayo comes in and purchases all of Crowns fiber across the US for a measly 4.5 Billion. Crown didn’t get bang for their buck at all. Actually seems like they came out of the deal losing more money than gained.

There is value in fiber. Big value. Problem is the Crown Cronies who had no business sniffing around fiber segment got hold of it and destroyed it. Proof... fibertech was bought by lightower for 2 or 3 some bil. 2yrs later that jumped to 7.1 bil. Obviously it was profitable but crown proved they know how to destroy.

Agree 100% about wrong people in charge. But not sure the EQT folks will see it much diff. Its just an asset in their portfolio, and if they can turn a buck on it, the right amount, poof its gone.

The Elephant in the room is who gets Rapid?!?!?!?!

The emt saw the value in fiber. The Nepos in shared services at southpoint fought it tooth and nail. They're gonna find out pretty quick towers alone won't support their echorbedent salaries and over staffed depts.
