How high is the attrition rate?

While I’m hearing and noticing that people have been leaving, I’ve also been wondering why given the state of the job market. It’s literally flooded with tech people. It seems to me that the attrition is not as high as it’s widely claimed. I decided to stay until I’m either laid off or find something else that is better or at least somewhat stable. I’m fed up with the atmosphere at Intel, with people being on edge, and the uncertainty that affects everything. But better to hold on to what you have while looking around.

I wish I could send you all this PPT I made, it's a valuable resource which outlines how hurt my feelings are. I worked very hard on it and I think it will really move the needle. I earned an MBA so I could destroy the economy while WingFH :). Please set up time on my calendar, 3 hours should be enough to review.

If you are prepared to take a temporary pay cut, you will be able to find a job. Don't expect an Intel-like package for your next gig. Simply compromise for 1-2 years . Then change jobs for a higher pay. Tough times call for tough measures.

@ah, not true, Intel guys are being hired by good companies, just check Linkedin, FAANG is having a party with our engineers.

"The market" is widely used around this board but, for the most part, is a lie. If you are an engineer, there are way more openings out there than candidates. Period. It's just that there are not that many engineers at Intel. Instead, the company is full of people working on Excel and Powerpoint. But if you know how to do anything useful with a computer, you should find a new job easily.

There are plenty of people with hard skills in esoteric and hard engineering fields who are leaving with amazing offers - signal integrity, analog design, power etc. They will almost always have a market for their skills.

For the commodity coder, IT, software types - small fish in a big ocean, they are having to compete aggressively and is very difficult.
