The Pilot Game

Sampath hit ‘like’ on this because it makes him look thoughtful. Truth is, guys like him are the pilot game. ‘Let’s do a pilot’ is never about testing — it’s corporate euthanasia. Starve the idea, bury it in decks, then brag when it fails. It’s how hubristic execs say no without saying no. We’ve all seen it, we all know it, and some of us know exactly who’s been playing it.

He bamboozled leadership with ridiculous theatrics and fake enthusiasm to get ahead and promoted. This is an easy task, since 9 out 10 leaders in BR are incompetent dolts. Interesting: They kicked S out of B2B right quick - no idea how or why Consumer got him. #truestory

"...he’s better than the last guy..."
Where else have I heard that in defense of incompetence?

@ag

Curious — can you give one concrete example of Sampath’s ‘good leadership’? Not the generic ‘he’s better than the last guy’ line, but an actual decision or action that shows it. Because from where most of us sit, it looks more like avoidance than leadership.

I don’t know about running in place, but he is a good leader. Maybe he can be more forceful in saying no upfront. I have been here for a long time and I think he is not bad compared to many others before him

He is the master of running in place and going nowhere fast, that is until it is time to show results or honor one of his many hollow promises. Then he is gone in a flash!
