Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

It's heating up

Companies announced 744,308 job cuts in the first half of 2025, the highest first-half total since early 2020, driven largely by widespread federal layoffs under the DOGE initiative, as well as corporate downsizing across sectors.

I don't believe OP is ready to be the 744,309th layoff.

@ag Literally the only thing DOGE has done is fire people. That’s their entire purpose. Of course they would share part of the blame regarding higher unemployment numbers. Because they’re creating unemployed people en masse.

You have to be trolling. Because I refuse to believe that an adult is this stupid.

You have to be suspicious of a news article when they specify an exact number like 744,038 from data that is hard to verify. You would expect something like greater than 740k or approaching 745k... it tells you that the non-technical journalists who wrote the article don't really understand the data they are reporting on.

In any case, it is a big number and Intel is about to make it even larger. Not a good job market to be getting into. If you get an offer take it.

Not reliable news source, blame DOGE and not the cr-ppy policies, rotten congress (both sides) and bloated govt that continued to hire and hire. Hmmm, sounds like Intel.
