Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lists have been made ?

Have lists been made ? It seems unusual that LBT did not mention a % of reductions and across which layers. He did mention they will get it done by June. What can we expect in the next few weeks? Last day has to be June 30th i would imagine for those getting hit.

The layoffs will stop when the company starts building products people want to buy and only if Intel can cut costs and generate postive operating cash flows.

This is why the new CEO won't commit a hard number yet... the situation is FUBAR and he has to see how bad the data looks.

Santa Tan has a list of who has been naughty (sleeping in car, never in office, surfing social media during working hours, hanging in the cafe all shift, absent from fab).

They should expect a lump of coal as their severance package.

Ho No!

Don’t trust your managers they know and they know who. They are lying if they say they don’t.

What difference does it make if there is a list or not? 1 in 5 people will lose their jobs and the circumstances will be different in each case.

@a8 i agree but that seems like it will take a longer time than June as LBT mentioned. Unless they know who to let go already notices are involved

Unlike in the past where the CEO has a HC number to hit and call it success or mission accomplished... I believe LBT is more pragmatic that there isn't a specific number to hit, but rather he'll cut till it's enough. This different approach will have different results, which Intel sorely needs. I think similarly, he'll hire more engineers as needed to accomplish his product goals. I would speculate that non-engineering and non-technical benchmarks are prob top 66%-75% of industry, while there is no specific limit to engineering talent. However, in part of holding management accountable, engineering leaders who don't execute, regardless of level, will be invited to leave if they miss their commitments.

Lists have been made partially for low performing employees. Easy target. Next is management to flatten the structure and let go of non technical folks in technical teams

Lists have been made but probably not all names. Everyone who is on the list so far will know this week depending on country of location. Rest notifications will be completed by June

We know at LEAST 20% but more like 30%. This will be COMPLETED BY June. Meaning..everyone will get their notices probably in the next couple weeks. One thing for certain. People that you work with will be GONE!!!
