Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

NVDA CEO crushed Quantum bubble today, claiming it will take decades to be a threat to his business.

Others think it will take on AI workloads much, much sooner, but they of course don't have a bubblecap tech company to keep from collapsing.

Either way, Intel has dodged a bullet, having no more relevance to Quantum than it does to AI.

But it was a close call.

@af+1 See the RIA article on the method being used to 'leverage' bitcoin.

This strategy always ends in with most of the existing shareholder base being replaced by the owners of the convertible debt, and when they dump their shares then you will see how the other side of leverage works.

As far as team green, see the sequoia article that was previously posted on this site, as it explains why that strategy will also lead to deep investor chagrin.

Remains me a lot of cisco in the late 1990s.

Is he the Pat Gelsinger of NVIDIA?

Within a year there will be competition. 2 on the outside.

@ag I am WFH. My favorite thing to do while pretending to work is to watch streaming video of the romance/intimacy genre.

In 2025, for the New Year, I am taking up the game Elden Ring, so that may cannibalize some time from the former.

Nvidia is on tap of the most advanced development on quantum computing. Jensen knows what he is talking about. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nvidia-helping-google-design-quantum-183000967.html?utm_source=perplexity&guccounter=1

If QC is for real, he would not make this kind of comments openly. QC can help AI tremendously, he would not reject any help to grow his AI empire. QC also needs AI to grow and he knows that too.

What would you expect him to say? It will be a direct competition to Nvidia and he isn’t developing any quantum products.

Tempted to take a position in quantum during AH but am not that smart and will let this shake out for a bit. Your comments re MSTR short. Is this in the context of it being a proxy for BTC bubble, or is there something else to be aware of? Thank you

He seem to be trying his best to keep the AI bubble inflated as long as possible. Quantum is only at the beginning phase, that is given, but it may be a good time to get in that game now than wait another decade or two.

I think Jensen is doing all he can to position NVDA as unassailable, but that is a battle he will lose spectacularly (maybe very soon as well).

Quantum was due for at least a retest of the 50ma, if not even a return to the lows.

It is early and many of those companies are still selling stock to pay for R&D. A few have some revenue but they are all really small companies.

Having a hard time deciding whether NVDA or MSTR are a better short in what appears to be a steep market retest in 2025. Will probably short them both, because they are both nearly perfect examples of hype piled on top of excess leverage.

Thankful to be in and out of IONQ before Jensen passed his comments. I believe there was another person on these threads with strong hands. I hope he/she is okay. I have to assume Jensen miscalculated the ramifications of his comments. My take away is the current inflated valuations is smoke and mirrors. In Intels case, sometimes it’s better to do nothing
