Is anyone actually doing less work from home?

From what I see, people are more productive, more responsive, and putting in more hours. Why would any company want to give that up?

IMO the atrium building in Hartford will grow a partition soon…..

Roger’s building is paid form but you can’t sell it to anyone because it’s 100 years old and completely ridiculous. Atrium is mostly modern and sellable. It used to have a partition during ING days. Lots of asbestos makes it impossible to sell / dispose of also.

Rogers is being renovated HARD. All new fancy pants furniture in HUGE swaths of floor real estate, mezzanine completely cleared out after 10 years of langoliers / liminal space experience. All nice Herman miller offices and cubes. And fresh new business hotel paint jobs, wall paneling, etc.

Guess what atrium ddat friends, you’re coming home to mother Aetna soon! Atrium gonna get sold! Maximum Izzat!

I work more at home than in an office and they keep track of how long you’re on the computer working. We see the reports everyday.

WFH offers a broader choice of qualified candidates. Prior to Covid I turned down many assignments because I will not relocate. I only WFH at this point.

Wake up…Maybe… just maybe… it’s the folks juggling two “full-time” jobs . The ones who’ve perfected the art of aggressive mouse-wiggling. The professional phone talkers. The elite doom-scrollers. The undercover Candy Crush champions.

You’ve got the “technically online” crew who sign in at 7:43 p.m. for a strong two-hour cameo appearance. The daytime shoppers. The full-time parents clocking in between snack distribution and referee duty. The minimalists—doing the absolute bare minimum with Olympic precision.

Does that… possibly… explain it?

@af ive been working from home for over 15 years. No kids. Im more productive at home because people aren't coming to my desk to " network" aka " gossip, complain and bs". I save money on food, clothes and gas. With lack of good salaries in this company, that means alot. My team is all over the country. It makes no sense for many of us to be there. The old " building lease" bs is done. Give up the ancient buildings and put them up for sale.

  • Leases on big a-s office spaces!
  • Lot of unused real estate!
  • Managers, Directors, VPs etc with trust issues (same as with their spouses)!

I work from home and constantly put in unpaid overtime, I'd like to see the little cushy 9-5 office workers doing that. If they made me work in office, I'd quit immediately.

People that work from home yank their toddlers out of daycare to be home all day to add background noise to conference calls to save $$. Some transport older kids to school and back and run errands all day while everyone else is at work. Work is for collaboration and networking. Home is for family ties, family fued, and the View. Simply as this.

You’ve obviously forgotten our workers during COVID. They mailed ir in from home, missed meetings on teams and ultimately thought that they owned the Bank.
