Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

SOS

It’s so bad. A lot of people are in a really bad place as we wait to hear what happens. I’m doing the job of 3 people. This isn’t the Jones I know.

Do you expect ELT to meet at a Best Western in Toledo, OH? Many of the posters are forgetting that GPs are controlling shareholders of the firm and can do what they want. If they want to go to Aspen, why would they care what a handful of LPs say? If they want to take a 2 week all expense trip to Tahiti and run those expenses through the firm in form of TAP trips, what can we do? A new coffee bar, better health insurance, reward conferences at 5 star hotels, the list goes on and on. It has always been a two tiered system in terms of perks and benefits.

@db they need to clear their heads so they can be fresh in their approach to fixing this debacle.

@db are you serious about ELT being in Aspen this week?!

If that IS true, I cannot imagine a more tone deaf, ignorant and irresponsible decision.

GP’s and Limited Partners, listen up and take note. This is the leadership running YOUR investment in the firm. Are you seriously okay with the decisions being made??

this website is a testament to the disaster this firm has become! people are scared and demotivated! yet the ELT is at a resort in Aspen this week and they all flew private jets. that says it all!

Leaders missing in action seems like a common theme these days.

I have a close buddy whose leader is missing in action. She has been doing both her job and covering her leader’s responsibilities. All she hears is sh*t from her interim leader. No acknowledgment or appreciation for doing 2 people’s job.

This firm’s culture is going down the drain.

I am very depressed and my leader is missing in action. Penny has created a h3llscape and has insulated herself from it with her millions and minions. Enjoy your private jet flights to Aspen you ignorant woman.

It’s a sad environment. I keep hearing similar stories.

Many people are putting in long hours and experiencing burnout because they are doing 2 people’s work. Instead of acknowledgement, support or appreciation from their leaders, they are being told how they should do better and do more.

@OP . A bunch of people are leaving this fall. Won't be a lot of folks left in department.

These folks are counting down their days and checked out mentally when they accepted the VSP.

I've already decided if I'm not offered an ISP; I'm going to leave the firm for my mental health. I also prefer to not be around in 2 years when this Chubak guy takes over.

I firmly believe something big will happen when he becomes MP. Buyout or public company.

I get yelled at on a daily basis....

@OP get used to it- this is the new Edward Jones. Do even more with even less and if you can’t handle it well, there must be someone from the outside that can come in and do your job faster and better.

@af completely agree with you and OP. Everyone is getting bogged down with so much “running the business” kind of work that you don’t have time for any flashy projects or process improvements…which is what seems to be needed to achieve Exceeds Expectations.

Don’t even get me started on the Outstanding rating, which is damn near impossible.

I agree. I am in an area where we historically never provided service help, simply because we don't know intricate details of every process. However, we are getting calls from branches as a last resort. Branches are being told by a service area they cannot help, or that it will take longer than expected. This is not a shot at any other area. It's an unfortunate reality ELT has created and doesn't seem it will get better.

And higher ups will still claim you aren't "getting outside your comfort zone" by doing 3x the work. Then, your leader will ask at your annual review why you haven't "developed" a bunch of new neat skills (even if you learned 2 new jobs on your team to backfill). You will get a meets plus on your review because nothing is ever enough for these clowns running the circus called 'Enterprise Reimagined'
