True dedicated employees know how to wfh and often give 110% not to mention work 12-18 hour days to fill in for the continued workload added due to the wfrs that are now happening quarterly.
Instead of increasing revenue by keeping good talent let’s get rid of all those great assets and add folks who don’t care about the jobs its about the socializing and being seen instead of making a name for yourself by exercising impeccable work ethics and self discipline to be able to exceed goals by wfh and balancing work family and maintaining work life balance

This post breaks it down well. They even changed our time off request to an "absence" request. This is how you manipulate the culture. Make "remote worker" a dirty word and get all the folks who are quick to comply have no empathy based on the created stereotype. The most programed are the office folks thirsty to see remotes arms twisted instead of minding their own business. Why are they so thirsty to see turmoil for folks they never met and don't even work with? Whatever your assessment it's happening regardless.

Being surrounded by loud annoying people you don't work with in a compact open office environment is what MD means by "in-person collaboration."

I was a longtime employee who was back in the office at least 4 days a week on the Round Rock campus. It su-ks. The best desks were claimed early on by people who rushed into the office after covid. Enjoy your sh---y spot on a main hallway next to annoying people you don't even work with. A typical workspace is about 3 linear feet of desktop, and you are absolutely bracketed by other people (something like 12 people that you could reach out and touch). It's like the middle seat on a flight that never lands.

For decades at Dell, I was on site, but at least I had a cubicle and a humane amount of space to work.

The cafeteria got absolutely eviscerated by Dell's cost-cutting. It's annoying and expensive to leave campus every day, so it funnels the overpopulation down to the cafe. The cafe is literally 1/4 of what it used to be for many years when we are onsite. The hours are cr-p, and most of the stations / offerings sit vacant. If you go there at the wrong time, the lines are outrageous.
