Yep, I am 56 years old and got let go, today 4/30/2026. They even gave a chart showing everyone 56 and older got let go. 5 out of 17 people on the list. Young stay, old go.

I lost my Optum job today 4/30/2026. My IT analyst job has been eliminated. 5/14/2026 is end of job, but they walked me out the door today.

Yes, layoffs are happening today. Just ended a team meeting where we lost 4 members. Don't know the age range.. but a member on my team had 20 years of service.

When does the call usually come? I know my team was let go in the last round and it seems like it was in the morning. Just anxious.

Advice: If you're let go, use the two weeks given to you to update your resume and network. Reach out. Things will be okay. You're worth more in so many ways than Optum could ever offer. (RIFed January 2026.)

What’s the point of them wanting “the element of surprise”? The decision was made weeks ago. This seems to be reason they switched from a mass meeting to individual calls.
