Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon has lost its shine

Heavy work, broken tech, bad managers, tiny raises. Insurance keeps getting worse. Basic tasks take all day. Sales and customers dropping, no vision. It's a mess.

Very true. The knob hasn't been polished in a long time.

32 years, its really hard to watch the ship sink. Glad I was around in the early years to see how a real company operated.

@dj He did. Lay off employees, buyback stock, sell his own stock, run the company to the ground.

It's been like this since 2019. When we let GN&T spend away. Now going to squeeze the sh-t out of them and get them back in line and let the other orgs actually spend.

@cx Very true! Fortunately, one of the lake mary leaders knows how to build armies of teams just like that.

The ONLY answer is to hire more managers with no experience to push spreadsheets around, and promote absurd metrics, and indirectly require their teams to manipulate their workload to meet those absurd metrics so their numbers look good and they get their bonus.

Its the ONLY way.

Attrition will wipeout all pre 2008 associates, they can't retire now and they are early boomers. Good luck trying to retire.

@a3 what’s to study? Decades of bad management, extremely poor CEO’s that pilfered the company dry then bailed . Promoting the liars cheats and thieves to management can they got the number no matter how… it was easy to see this coming . Now we pay a ceo 40 million golden parachute and sign a new ceo to 3 yrs if numbers hit his bonus will be bigger ….. do you think the numbers won’t be met ? He will decimate the workforce and product loyalty and reliability in Order to cash that bonus. 15k gone another 12+ k set to come in a month or so … he’ll get there with time to spare … cut cut cut at your employees and customers cost .

The South Asian mafia doesn’t care about you guys. Just need to run off the long term employees so they can hire more H1b contractors.

For a dude that started in 1995, this company has done nothing but cater to a bunch of re--rded employees lately.
