Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Same leaders new positions in ISG and CSG

Dell is just moving the deck chairs around in the titanic for 2026. We’ve got the same leaders in ISG and CSG but in new positions because they’ve either laid off or the other good leaders quit or moved into different roles. Now we are stuck with the ignorant and arrogant. We are going to go through the same ideas but they’ll be “new” because they came from new, unqualified people who just have no business being in their roles. They way they got to them wasn’t by earning them but because people left or moved. Now we all have to deal with the “new” but not “new” ideas.

The realities are simple. We need better leadership. Leadership that’s not going to think they’re amazing but industry leaders with a real perspective on the industry.

Right now we’ve got a bunch of kids a$$ leaders who all have their own agenda. If you can leave in 2026 you should. It’s going to be a frustrating year.

BTW - hammer them on the eNPS.

@c4 Managers and Directors have only one agenda -- save my a$$ at any cost; and it doesn't require to delivery anything for Dell -- actually on the contrary -- people who work loose out on doing their self PR and taking credit of the work other are doing or our partners are doing. Better stop working as working won't save you, instead focus on your self PR just like your bosses.

The illusion that CSG design decisions are made at Dell it's laughable. It's a bunch of goofs attending a meeting with an ODM who shows them 5 basic ideas, and then taking credit for saying "We'd like a thunderbolt port for an accessory portfolio we don't have for thunderbolt" and high fives to the massages.

@ae No one is following orders around here. Period. It’s survival of the fittest. They will do the minimum to meet top down requirements and squeeze any extra headcount they have for some Hail Mary project they hope is going to save them from the axe and make them relevant in AI or at least add AI to their resume. And top management has wrought this by giving us zero job security and zero real insight into the strategy of what the fu-k we’re actually supposed to be doing around here.

Unfortunately, managers have very little say in what should be done versus what needs to be done. Just like most of us, we take orders from our managers and those managers take orders from their Director, and so forth...

You are looking at it through the lens of what you think should be done. Managers are being told what to do. Free thought in this and any other organization is a fallacy. None of us know what the end game is here.
