Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

New role at XOM

I work at another major and saw a commercial analyst role in the M&A group. Does anyone have any insight if the culture in that group is as bad as the rest?

They are also recruiting for the same role in India (upstream commercial analysts) and this job could be done by others across the org, so not sure there is longevity in job or career.

Artificial intelligence replaces analysts soon, as it should. I’d more consider a more grounded career role.

Exxonmobil is systematically downsizing the organization especially in high cost countries (US included) so it is not a place for a decent career any longer. The culture unfortunately reflects the downsizing - backstabbing, gaslighting, etc.

I work for the group and its ok, 7 years here. Worked at a small and midsized competitor- its better here. We do have a yon of issues, but for first two years you will not notice those- I would go for it

@ae Culture and people don’t change much from one super-major to another.

Go with whichever company offers you the highest salary.

Don't come to this company unless you are happy with it being a few years stop before something else.
