Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Any telltale signs you are on ISP list?

The suspense is ki-ling me.

People in the know - are there telltale signs that I am on the ISP list? I would like to go into the Aug 25/26 call knowing what to expect.

@ba They are most certainly vetting a service / platform RIGHT NOW that will use AI to replace most (if not all) of the Service Division. It’s only gonna get worse once it is implemented. And PP is wetting her pants with how excited she is about it. Disgusting to me!!!

Rumor is, if you are on a PIP or received needs improvement on your last annual review, you might want to get your resume up to date.

@d2 how about Wildwood, BMW and Steamboat?

@d2 - the bigot that you are, you had to inject race and ethnicity into that.

Remember friends, we are all in this fire together. Blame the ELT for this mess and not some your colleagues just because they look different. That’s sad.

It's easier to tell who is safe:

  • If your lips are attached to the posterior of your leader human centipede style, you are safe.
  • If your name has more letters than the alphabet and rhymes with rama lama who's your mama, you are safe.
  • If you drive an Audi, live in Chesterfield, and fly to Aspen, you are probably safe.

Otherwise, you are on the list.

@aa they were talking about outside of work. Not to mention, we have barely any time for "upskilling" when we have to work with a 3 man shortage on our team (assuming nobody is sick or vac). Everyone is already stretched thin and then d1-kheads like you still assume we should all turn into workaholic a$$ kissers in order save our jobs? You probably hate people who leave work on time to be with their kids too.

If I spent my days doing repetitive task or if my job required no specialized knowledge, I would be worried. They are looking to outsource those jobs. (Replacing jobs with AI isn't actually a thing).

If there were people in other departments doing ostensibly the same job as me I would be worried. They are looking to eliminate redundant roles.

@OP it’s hard to know since this is different than standard reorg. Seems like a lot of change is on the horizon. Generally are multiple people doing the same role? How big of a team? Are you exceeds or needs improvement. What’s your grade level? These are some things that they might be looking at. Remember streamlining efficiency and spans and layers. In the end, they might just be picking from a hat. Focus on yourself and doing what makes you happy. Skill up if you can and network. This too shall pass.

@aa if you think you are better than everyone else, you are on the list. Maybe not this round, but your arrogance will be your downfall.

If you have spent the last six months only doing hobbies or doing dr-gs like the people in the other anxiety post and not building skills and preparing for a new job, then you are on the list.
