I only know a layoff is coming because they decreased the amount for reimbursement for internet last month without telling anyone aside from management and the three managers I work with don’t even bother to engage with or train people on the team. The new hire teams they have coming in are being trained by new supervisors who have to contact switch between training and helping their new team get set up because god forbid they actually hire US workers and pay them decently

Ha i get mine free and no reimbursement games. Only use it for business though no personal stuff
@a1 some states require employers to reimburse for internet but it’s definitely peanuts compared to what internet actually costs.

For a very long time there was a program where you could receive internet reimbursements, but the caveat was you had to use company network gear. I actually had the option and opted out because I didn't want to have any of Big Brothers stuff plugged in at my house. I haven't heard of it in a while but internet reimbursement was quite common. The poster has probably been here for a while.

I have continued to hear whispers in the tech areas about US layoff discussions from Sr Directors and up. No dates but it seems like something is brewing. Who knows though. They change their minds all the time.
