Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

With the round effectively done

I can’t help but notice that the managerial class wasn’t trimmed nearly as much as it should have been, while too many skilled people were let go. Once again, the criteria for layoffs seemed to be driven mostly by numbers, not by actual performance or the value someone brings to the company. That leaves me pretty skeptical about how this restructuring will play out. I’m not exactly looking forward to spending another year working in a completely dysfunctional team.

I don't believe OP is ready to be outsourced by AI, then attacked by humanoid robots on his way to the homeless shelter.

Layoffs will be ongoing until the IFS split, plus one big right-sizing after the split for the new/distinct entities, at the very least.

It seems that the orderly downsizing is the best route to anticipate from now on.

@a3 hard to build a relationship with people who are terrible honestly. Relating to people whose mission is to do as little work as possible is just such an awkward experience. So are they fired because of a lack of a relationship? Or are they fired because they aren’t good. And the lack of relationship is what follows.

Past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior. This is how Intel has done layoffs for decades: keep your friends & lackies, fire the people you don't have a strong personal relationship with.
