Is it allowed at Citi to accept an offer for one location but work from a different city, even if the team isn’t based there? if it’s officially allowed or needs some kind of approval

My manager said she doesn’t mind where I work as long as the job gets done, so she approved
intention to relocate to Texas or North Carolina. Who will approve

I had to get written permission to work somewhere else. My role changed and I was no longer required to be domiciled in any particular location. I had to relocate to a city where Citi had a presence, they would not permit me to be a "telecommuter". I had a choice of about ten cities I could move to and my choice had to be approved by my SVP before I could be moved in the global directory and then move myself to my new location. The current environment is highly skewed to the RTO model and getting permission to be a telecommuter is very hard.
Odd question. If you have an offer, they know where you live. If part of the offer wasn't to locate to the location where the job was posted then it sounds like they are fine with you being at whatever location you are near. Most people in Citi work for teams that are spread all over different sites. Makes the RTO mandate rather silly.
