No airline background, and remote from Sweden…

@sd Successes? Under his tenure at CWT it was bleeding customers. It was instrumental in them ending up for sale.
Replace the management with AI.
Don't worry. AI will help them lead. SMH
@zh Michelle?
But but but... you don't need airline experience in AI/ML/agentic-first company... This is the new Sabre , not the old Sabre people!
Andreen was in the mix for the CEO role after Kurt left, but once Michelle was appointed, he left almost immediately. She went on to steer the company through Chapter 11 and the refinancing, before Andersen eventually took over. Andreen bounced through a few roles after leaving CWT, only to be pulled back in by Ekert now, when the shuffling of deck chairs happened. And yes, most of you are right, he has virtually no experience negotiating with airlines. Sabre's entire leadership team are out of their depth, and it seems the company is being run by an uncontrollable CMO.
@sd Agreed. Being a senior executive of 2 failed enterprises bodes well for this one as well. Also, having 0 airline background is always helpful in running an airline IT business.
Niklas's past successess speaks volumes, nothing stopping the New and Improved Sabre now from kicking butt....
@jd GG has been ‘strategic advisor’ for years..
@gk Titles like "senior advisor" or "strategic advisor" are code for "fired, but we don't want to say so, so we'll keep you on the payroll for a few more months."
So the company lays off ~1000 while announcing CCO roles for AS and TN to replace RM, who is now a Senior Advisor? How is that role different from Strategic Advisor GG?
The Airline CCO appears to have no airline background but is a buddy of the CEO so that will work out fine right? They also buried another new executive role created for Sr VP Strategic Commercial Partnerships in the CCO announcement. Move along, nothing to see here.
Lol the company with this management has no future. It must collapse and the C-id--ts retire…
old KE buddy..
@ad Being TONE DEAF and Bizarre has been a Hallmark of this Clown Show E Team!!!
I guess after laying off ~1000, they figured they've save enough money to create yet another new C-level role, this time for an inexperienced outsider. In the best of times, such a swelling of C-level ranks would be odd. However, doing it right in the middle of a bloody layoff of rank and file, it's not just tone deaf but outright bizarre.
The NEXT Big thing to save our ar-e's.............
