Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Think about making a Career change. New Year could mean New Career

If you know how to repair Ford vehicles. Jim Farley stated you can make up to $120K a year working as a Mechanic at Ford Dealerships. With the never-ending recalls, which a lot of you crackheads helped create there's plenty of job security.

To answer Thornton Wilder - Human beings don't realize life when they live it, not every minute, not every hour, not every day, not even every year. Hopefully this inspires you...

@1st must be a Farley shill. The automotive channels on YouTube, Instagram, etcetera were mocking Farley and interviewing actual Ford dealership mechanics. All said Farley was full of hot air. Then Ford finds a mechanic claiming he easily makes 160k a year and plants that story on WSJ, MSN, etcetera. Typical Farley spin. Tell a whopper, double down and tell a bigger whopper.

@1ss If you want credibility, you should learn to spell warranty.

@qy+1kd9mdbfe I can tell you aren’t working as a mechanic in a Ford dealership.
For Ford warrantee work there is a set time that Ford pays. For example a warrantee item might pay 30 minutes. The problem is there is a huge disparity between the time Ford claims the warrantee work will take and the actual time the warrantee work will take.
Something that sounds simple like replacing a gasket might actually take 4 hours as the gasket is inaccessible until you pretty much dismantle the truck. No Fing way an experienced mechanic will do Ford warrantee work when they are getting paid 30 minutes for 4 hours of work. The non-warrantee work is moved to the front of the line and the trucks in for Ford warrantee work sit rotting in the lot.
Ford has been focusing on designs that speed the assembly line and doesn’t give thought one to how the truck will be maintained. The results speak for themselves.
Maybe Farley can pay the laid off plant workers to come work on all the warrantee trucks stacking up in the dealership lot. Maybe they are d-mb enough to work 4 hours for 30 minutes pay.

They plant you in situations on purpose, they put something in your drink, get you in a moment where someone threatens you and if you're aggressive they'll compromise you to control you. It's all fake, even if you're just defending yourself. Just to make you look irrational, flip like a switch once a camera starts rolling

Funny. Now how much per hour? Don't assume 16 hour days.

I would love for someone to heckle Farley in person because if I know these C-types they are so full of sh-t that they will mutter something stupid and then run. In fact, don't bother. Make fun of his dead brother. At least hurt the fu---r's feelings if he's going to stonewall any real questions.

@qy I’m sure they don’t get paid by the job.

Question for the naysayers here.
Some of you say Dealers pay mechanics a flat rate or job book rate or whatever.

How many repair jobs can a smart Mechanic complete in a day, who knows his trade, can work fast, can tear down and rebuild engines when needed and don't stand around talking to others a good part of their shift? You know, the Go-To Guy. Seems like these Mechanics are the ones most likely pulling in > $120K

What does a dealer charge the customer per hour?

120k? BS. Dealer mechanics get paid by the job book. 120k would be on the very very high end of experience.

And Ford has very few direct hire mechanics. Almost all at the research center are contract and they don’t make close to that.

Farley is full of cr-p

Can’t believe how many reporters and id--ts on LinkedIn believed that quote from Farley. “Ford CEO says he can’t find people to fill $120k jobs at his dealers!” What percent of Ford dealer mechanics make $120k (wages, not sum of benefits)?

Let Fartley be the mechanic and make the whopping 120K to enjoy ! 25 millions VS 120K what a hypocrisy.

Omg. Don't work for the dealerships. The bigger the dealership, the lower the pay for mechanics. Many pay flat-rate as well. Other shop than dealership, OK.
