Is it just me or was the last company meeting different? It wasn’t the usual energetic fluff that we’re used to. There was no formal run down of the numbers by the CFO. Then SM and SR bring in another one of their friends to run security. What’s unusual about this friend is she’s close to retirement age which means she isn’t joining for a lengthy career. It says a buyout is near without saying a buyout is near.

GC is interim CISO. She was retired prior to this.
Our CISO was terminated abruptly last month for reasons no one seems to know.
Who would acquire us?
@ad or leave it with Teradata, as they're already making caskets
@ad Which part would you actually buy? Which part would anyone actually buy? It's not worth the remaining ~400 customers, most of which are already in the process of migration. Teradata couldn't sell the software into an established customer base, so why could a VC?
We've been hearing that a buyout was near for almost 25 years. You can fool some of the people all of the time, but it takes real talent to keep fooling the same people over and over using the same line.
@gm They announced GC as our new CIO at the company meeting.
Who is the friend, and what do you mean security?
I guess a smart VC could sell the parts and make some cask.
