Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Forced Lower rankings

Organizations are being forced to mark more than a quarter of their teams low in performance reviews as low achievers, or inconsistent or however they want to work it. People are being marked low in the overalls to satisfy HR demands, but if they looked closer would see nothing in the categories are marked low. Teams are being told to "pass the pain around" so that no one hopefully gets terminated. HR forcing this is utterly ridiculous, and if they looked closer at the notes and other performance reviews they would see that teams are just playing this d-mb game. This turns employees sour and makes everyone feel undervalued. I'm sure the Detroit Freepress and others don't care either since they love to run Farley Love pieces constantly. This forced ranking stinks of Farley. He openly talks about how incompetent the employees are. I hope his contract is not renewed.

Anyone with leverage gets mocked, mislabeled, and mob-stamped because the racket isn’t about raising the bar.

@kj

Your 1st mistake was busting your @ss. 2nd mistake was disputing it in writing. Were you trying to get the kind of attention that gets you fired? I mean really....written dispute. Lol. There was a good chance if you'd have just ate it being so close to pension...what did you seriously think written dispute would get you at Ford. Were you not reading the room?

@kd
I busted my a$$ over the past year, was given a completely fabricated year-end PR (rated inconsistent on both metrics) which I disputed in writing, and never even got a midterm review because they terminated me last week just months away from pension/early retirement eligibility.

I know a few individuals, myself included, who were told they were purposely put as "inconsistent" as to "share the pain" among the rest of the team. Apparently HR is demanding around 1/4 to be lower, but in an effort to "save the workforce" and to circumvent the force rankings teams are rotating between everyone. It's completely unnecessary.

IDK why you guys act so surprised? Check the objectives of your " people leaders", and yours. You'll see small differences, enough to ensure the LLx always meet and exceed their objectives, even when the whole teams under them are receiving inconsistent. How is logically possible that a manager is meeting the objectives when the whole team under didn't? But upper management allows it. People Leaders? Nope, just People Leeches.

The game is rigged. You should be looking for another job, and saving money in the meantime. This is not going to end well for the white collar workforce.

@ad HR is aware it is forced; they have been yelled at about it by leaders. They do not stop it; thus it is real and they endorse it.

HR absolutely enforced quotas. They never specified an actual number for inconsistent ratings, but were quick to tell us that we didn't have enough. And they kept doing that until we got to an acceptable number. All thr while they kept telling everyone there was no quota, and people should blame their manager if they thought there was.

LL4 / LL5 need to go. The sc=u=m of the earth. Not all LL5s. But 95% of LL4s- females and males.

It is coming from leadership lmao. How many meetings have I been pulled in where they are comparing rating averages from other orgs and our thresholds for 1,2s were not meeting other orgs.

Love this Orwellian times we are in where you are lied to your face with the evidence right in front of you.

What’s bullsh-t is leadership’s direct negligence and mismanagement of strategy, but blaming their workers for their failings by handing out 1s.

What the heck happened to merit? Are we so warped now that you get merit once you’re in the clubs? Ford and the USA are broken beyond repair.

Looks like Fartley is trying to outdo Jacques the kn--e Nassar with the forced ranks. You can’t dislike him enough.

Maybe we have to be rated inconsistent because that's all DF knows as he has never been an achiever at anything except failing upwards. I hope both JF and DF get inconsistent in both what and how unless its rating how much money they lost the company with their bad decisions

Well sweet. If I'm going to be marked low, I may as well start performing that way right now.

Everyone under DF in Model E had to have a mandatory underachiever in one of the ‘pillars’. This is regardless of performance. Great way to further p*SS off your workforce…
