June 10 - CONFIRMED

Last night I had dinner with my friend in HR, and yes, June 10 is confirmed!

I'm obviously not going to share their name, but they are working towards Tuesday, June 10, and it's not just US-based people.

They said there are a lot of streaming and lagacy based cable people on the lists and also non-US based people.

It sounds like it might be a bloodbath

So we just got a "read between the lines" confirmation in a C-level Office Hours today. Without saying it directly, it sounds like, yes, this is happening. They're all being very tight-lipped about any specifics, but it is what it is. Godspeed, everyone.

Just heard from multiple managers under GC that layoffs are in fact next Tuesday. So it would appear layoffs are company wide. My bosses are in the dark though (or so they say).

@11f names r final. The only exception is if non targeted workers quit. your boss has the choice to keep the workers who were on the list or hire new workers.

@10j According to my understanding, the decisions are essentially final. They are just waiting for sign-off from the top which should come later this week, then HR can work on the details next week and provide them to line managers late next week.

Also people need to stop saying it won't hit domestically; that is totally wrong. Domestic will be hit, and so will international. All areas of the company are going to see cuts.

Any idea when decisions were made?

For the late September 2024 round I recall decisions being made in early July, and every group had a number to hit.

With that logic is it safe to assume management made decisions ~ March?

It can easily take 3-6 months to land the next gig and that probably on the faster end. "Always be interviewing" is the "new always be closing"

They target streaming because the app su-ks, sorry, it really does. Plus during the hiring blitz they over hired and over paid.

@OP To add to what I said, they didn't suggest it was just execs. I got the feeling it was all levels. Also thinking about it they did mention ad sales in passing which doesn't surprise me as we all know ad revenue is down. But they don't look after ad sales as they are HR for another area. I didn't want to press them on it. It was more the fact that they confirmed the date we feared.

they must have an alt plan for streaming if thats the case.

Are all 3 Ceos staying put?

Also can we PLEASE look at the over inflated "leadership" teams? I know in our org, there is 1 president, 4 EVPS, 8 SVPS..... Think about the amount of DO'ers they could save by just getting rid of 1 of those...
