Have they ever extended termination date for any reason?

I've seen them do it because it benefited the organization in some way.

If you have a need for this like medical coverage or some other circumstance why on earth would you come to this site for answers? Go talk to your manager or HR who have the real answers.
Being on leave grants you a bit more time, but the moment you come back, you're walked right out.
@a9 what constitutes as extenuating circumstances?
@ac I know someone personally who got it extended by several months last year due to severe extenuating circumstances (won't get into the details). But like you said, it is rare.
