Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Any organization that has its 5x RTO pushed back to the end of Q1? I heard the supply chain’s was delayed due to space constraints.

I think the Atlanta delayed reporting is for Legg's L2s.

From BI: Senior leaders (level 4 and above) must return full-time by January 6, followed by level 3 managers on February 3, and remaining employees by March 3, 2025. However, employees in Atlanta and Alpharetta may face delays until April-June 2025 as construction continues.

"I remember times when everybody worked in the office 5 days a week and wfh was not existing."

Yea, those times were great! I had a cubicle with 5 ft walls and windows looking out into the trees, L shaped desk, 2 visitor chairs, shelves for reference books since company M&P’s were only available on paper, and drawers to store office supplies and snacks. Even got to “remote in” sometimes (that’s what we called it). My AOL internet service & 56k modem didn’t really allow for heavy duty file sharing.
If I needed to speak to a team member I knew exactly where they were sitting; same place every day.

Do you remember having your own cube, not a 3x6 table? Or has dementia already settled in to your old brain!

“ You people must have dementia. I remember times when everybody worked in the office 5 days a week and wfh was not existing.”

Uh, when? I was RSA’ing in after hours since 1999 to do on-call work.

And when I was in the office, guess what? I know this is wild but I had MY OWN PERSONAL SPACE TO SIT EVERY SINGLE GD DAY. And it was right next to the rest of my team. And it had high walls to block noise and distraction for the multiple conference calls I was on.

GTFO with your BS.

My org doesn’t seem to know how to do a moderate roll out of anything, so it’s Jan 6th no matter what. Same org that decided zero virtual workers and only 2 hubs are allowed.
No assigned space. Jan 6th compliance, period.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

“ My guess is that only the new DEI replacement hires in Atlanta received a TBD date”

Yes, RTO is just a conspiracy against white men and all other races can do whatever they want.

You are a slug.

My guess is that only the new DEI replacement hires in Atlanta received a TBD date.

"Good luck in this current job market unless you have some very specific skills with the fake job postings. Know of 3 people who went through interviews, got to what they thought was the final round and told the job had been filled internally."

RTO was announced two years ago. Those who knew they would need to continue working should have started searching then. AT&T has provided more than enough notice.

You people must have dementia. I remember times when everybody worked in the office 5 days a week and wfh was not existing. Nobody complained. So stop fussing. RTO only diverts attention from more serious issues T is facing.

Some companies are delaying RTO due to space constraints. Know of a couple who are reengineering space to accommodate the influx. Read that some of them are applying for jobs as quickly as possible. If only that were true. I was dreading Monday but I’m really curious if it’s going to be as bad as we’ll all expect it’s going to be.

I am in Townes' org. We've been back in the office daily for over a year.
