Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Desperate recruiters from Qualcomm

I left Qualcomm San Diego couple of years ago after I realized it is not a place for innovation and it is full of toxic office politics. I moved to a better company and I have achieved in the new place much more than what I would have achieved at Qualcomm in the same period of time. I still get emails from recruiters at Qualcomm with open positions that match my experience I gained at the new company which puzzles me.
Are they so desperate to find qualified people? Don't they realize that engineers have left Qualcomm in the first place because it is very toxic and their career was stagnant? Does anybody from the HR at Qualcomm conduct an honest exit interview or read online reviews? The only good thing about working at Qualcomm was living in San Diego, that is it. The delusion is unreal.

Why they are desperate ? It’s easy, because they want to fill the number quickly. But, no mistake in QCA, or you will be the next to go!

HR doesn't care and the exit interviews are just to say they did it. They do not take any of the exist interview feedback and turn to actionable tasks or input. They just want to bury their head in the sand. HR is a joke and their diversity plan in all on paper, they are putting things in places and then measuring their own success.....hmmm, RED FLAG!

+++++1 to the OP
Spot on.

Career stagnation and petty office politics also caused me to leave and thrive elsewhere. I’ve also had the recruiters pinging me to come back. What a joke.

Also agree that San Diego is nice, but there are lots of nice places to live and not being valued at QCOM isn’t worth it.

To @abxw: I worked for QCT and never had to work more than 20 hours per week. I know that it is even more relaxing in Corp. R&D. If you think that working for QC is too hard, you can't really work for any other company.

If you work in qct, theres nothing to do with you regarding living in San Diego, work like a dog over 80 hrs a week and enjoy San Diego at the same time? I dont think so

Agreed with @8mrq+1cWByl1c. Qualcomm's package is still one of the most competitive ones in San Diego.

Qualcomm is the best job ever! The benefits are okay and the raises aren’t the best but living in San Diego is awesome!

I agree. The group my team was in had no business under the IT org. The politics and bu-t kissing was epic. Glad I left and got to retire.
