Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Not enough seats in support office

Chaos today in the support office as there are almost no seats left and still many more to come from opo. So either there’s going to be layoffs or someone needs to learn to do math.

Well it’s even worse today. We were kicked out of our area we’ve been in since RTO. There are desks but our team is split between buildings and rooms. What’s the point of RTO? Sit by yourself and chat over Teams. I could do that at home.

Or you could just come into the office early and get the seat you want rather than complaining about it

@kg No one said Workplace Solutions confirmed any layoffs. Based on what the person who works in WPS said to me, I can tell there are going to be layoffs. We all know the layoffs are coming - that's why we are on this page.
Anyway, I have to go get ready for an interview. I can't wait to get out of this place! I just hope I beat them to the punch!!!

I don't believe workplace solutions will send email confirming layoffs. Sure reconstructions. These layoffs are confidential. To participate people need to sign NDA. Makes sense ?

They are currently constructing new seats in 200 and 106, won't be ready next week but soon enough

They may do layoffs but that is not to make room or solve the seating issue. If you think that you are an id--t.

They may do layoffs but that’s just to increase the bottom line so they can get the company performing as well as possible before selling or taking public again.

@en It was a personal email between me and someone in WPS. Not a company wide email.

@e5 what email did you receive?

@e5 ...or it could be that they are building out several areas. In fact it is definitely true that they are building out areas.

Based on an email I just received from Workplace Solutions, the layoffs will be taking place before the end of February. They acknowledged the lack of seats and said that more seats are going to become available next month. TRANSLATION: AFTER MASS LAYOFFS, EVERYONE WILL FIT.

@OP please STFU. You have no idea what you were talking about.

I think there will be enough seats. Parking spots on the other hand, not so sure. There is a little bit of capacity in the south lot by the freeway but the lots closest to WIlmot are completely full on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Plenty of seats on the second level of 200 and they’re creating more.

Monday is going to be a nightmare! All the OPO people are going to show up and there truly is not enough room to keep teams sitting together.
This entire move situation has been handled horribly. Shame on Sycamore for treating employees so poorly! Very disorganized and unprofessional.

this is a pretty ridiculous comment. seats in other sections available. not saying we won't face a problem down the line, but it seems like they're creating space and building desks

@ab where?

Not sure where you were looking but there are a lot of open seats and they’re actively building more desk areas.
