Zero field techs are optimistic about their future at Ncratleos. Currently it being the 4th quarter now isn't the time to leave but the grumbling and rumbling has commenced. No one in the field wants a camera in the cab and none of ncr management cares what they think. Will there be a mass of techs leaving in the near future? Only time will tell.

@e4 100% agree
@1ds Not the point re-read it.
We have not seen Diebold defections coming this way, it’s all people leaving and not returning to NCR
@193 Go to the Diebold layoff link, review the comments. it's as if you cut and paste these remarks.
Can’t tell you how bad the attitudes of many senior level CE’s are. Couple years ago vast majority of them were demoted by NCR (believe union areas were not effected) which effectively will limit their wages (ceiling cap going down a level).
To no surprise, they no longer give an F. Newbies come in and do not receive the support they should be getting in the field. The culture rot mentioned before is so true and works its way from top to bottom. What I’ve seen is 0-3 year techs getting frustrated with lack of support from senior techs and quickly leaving to our competitors which are offering much better incentives/pay. The seniors stick around due to accumulation of vacation time and little to no change in pay, but for newbie techs it’s easy to take their NCR training and go to Diebold for $5 more per hour to do same work.
@y0 So are you a five-year guy that allows sloppy OJT once the tech is back from training? Make some sense here please. By definition newbies will struggle at some level anyway.
@v1 the newbies do struggle, the training is poor, in the end if there are no 5 year guys or more left, the customers suffer, and bad habits are introduced and become normalized.
So. many of the comments by SR techs are just rinse and repeats from previous layoffs, RIFs etc. are P@M sessions or I'm leaving and taking my experience with me (please). Did the company not lose experienced techs during those previous events. If your skill set is so extensive there should be plenty of positions available at other companies. Every tech starts somewhere and gains knowledge and expertise along the way. None of you popped out as experienced techs. I have seen firsthand how bad some of the drivers are in company vehicles, tell you what you pay the increased insurance cost. if you are an "older" you have seen this as well. At least be honest. No one is chained to this company.
Some of the sr techs are old enough to leave and not work, they are only working either because they like the job, or it’s just really easy for them.
These cameras 🎥 maybe the last straw for them to leave and take all their knowledge with them, losing a good sr guy can really hurt, the newbies think everything is easy until they have to handle the tough calls with out back up and can’t figure it out, humbles them quickly.
@ab I find it odd how others dont get it that posted in response. Its not the bad techs leaving that's the issue. We're talking quality techs, the ones that are constantly saving the day. These techs are the ones who will leave and dont necessarily have to go to another company that provides a service vehicle. They'll find jobs that need technicians and dont micromanage in this fashion.
@ab Dude most states have laws against having a cell phone in your hand while driving. Ever hear of hands free. I seriously question your "new" position and company will allow reckless driving. Good to know you think you are so much better than your fellow tech's. (Highly question that). Hope the door did not hit you in the AZZ on the way out,
The cameras are not going away, you gotta decide for yourself if they are too much or if you can tolerate them. Nobody forces anyone to stay, everyone can make a choice for themselves.
The vehicle is owned by the company, they can do as they wish, no getting around that. Years ago as a CE I used the company car as a personal vehicle, I didn’t care, but we didn’t have smart phones or gps, todays world is very different, even before the cameras, you have been monitored long ago, first with the cell phone, if a manager wanted they could track you, enable the mic, and even listen in on your calls, gps just added to it with data on the vehicle, monitoring when it’s started, when it’s turned off, location, and speed, along with hard stops.
The cameras just take it to a new level, if they use it ……..
That is going to be the norm, all service companies are gonna have cameras in their fleet vehicles.
@ap About what exactly. Avoiding accountability of driving irresponsibly in a company vehicle. Risk and liability mitigation for all those excellent drivers out there. Good Luck.
@ab You don't seriously think that other company fleets won't follow with cameras etc. You may avoid it for a period of time. Reckless driving is reckless driving no matter where you work.
Talk to your Union Rep
The camera yapping at all times is out control.
I left after many years of being a CE 2. once that camera got put in, that was it. It doesn't shut up, you can't adjust the volume and it constantly dings you for every infraction ( cell phone use, following too close, too fast, hard breaking, rolling stops). It never ends. Along with the other cr-ppy ce's that don't do sh-t, i was done. Found another atm position making more with less issues and management that actually cares. I would get out while you can. They are losing so many customers.
