Thread regarding Texas Instruments Inc. layoffs

Disproportionately losing talent and veterans

Whoever makes it through, just imagine what things will look like once the dust settles. We’ve already been under immense pressure, and now it’ll be triple the workload without the most competent and reliable people. Makes me wonder if keeping the job is even something to feel relieved about.

@ct You must miss and long for the days when TI stood for "Training Institute", seems like Haviv and the rest of leadership are doing their best to return to those days.

Good luck, with your attitude, you're going to need it.

@ct sure, stay committed to TI with our current leadership. I'm sure they will be very rewarding of your long tenureship and take care of you.

@ab Great! Please go if you are half way out and not committed to your workplace. Don't wait too long, it will help you and the company.

@ab I walked past some NCGs walking out yesterday and thought the same thing. Doesn't reflect well on the company.

Expect more cuts of US-based employees before EOY.

To the new people coming in, welcome to the rice fields. Let's see if you survive long enough to get your RSU's. The way things are going you may even be willing to pay to get out after a year.

As someone who didn't make it through during June layoffs I had the same thoughts. I'm lucky I got a job lined up before severence is up and used my "full time off" job hunting. If I was still there I'd very likely be looking for an out. Just with a lot less time. Good luck everyone.

I know at the end of the day it's a corporation but I am so sad to see my TI family torn apart like this.
