Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Leadership is a joke - RTO

Everyone is now fully 5 days a week. How do some people get the luxury to be fully remote even doing the same functions….I would be happier to come in if I get an incentive and better career path or trajectory. If you are remote then you should be on a flat line role. Before covid everyone was doing 5 days but that was because we felt the growth and opportunities within the firm. Now everyone will most likely leave as soon as another opportunity comes. What a mess.

I worked full remote for 10 years before Covid, was always a star performer. Management change happened, none of that mattered, I was gone when I wouldn't relo.

I wish nothing but the best for you individual workers, but I hope "the best" is you finding another job and letting the place melt.

We should be thanking the trolls for lowering morale even more than it already is. They are just making the inevitable happen sooner. Please keep pi----g everyone off.

i have sympathies to disabled/re--rded people so feel they are allowed WFH with sapience as a tool to monitor their productivity.

Some people are remote due to disabilities. Saying that they shouldn’t be promoted because they are remote is illegal sh-t.

Some things bring back bitter memories for me. Ages ago Aon outsourced all IT functions to India so Windows problems “cheaperfasterbetter” as if one word and get rid of IT slackers and increase shareholder value Same as I hear on this board. Nothing changes. Sad. So sad

  1. We were never required to be in the office 5 days a week in Alpharetta - not until Bank Fiznano required it after 8 years in that bldg.
  1. Sapience showed higher productivity before RTO - they don't care. The Friday slacking is just a talking point. If Sapience was the deciding factor, we would all be WFH!
  1. Only thing that saved Fisgnano is the job market tanked - if it turns around, Fiserv is cooked - because there has been & will be a mass exodus

But I guess thats the new guys problem - he doesn't realize the titanic is headed to an iceberg and there is too much momentum to stop it!

Idk about other areas, but the FIG group I was in (past tense, thank god) always had higher Sapience numbers on Fridays. M-Th we hit 8 hours and bounced, but Fridays we averaged 10 active hours. I've always been super suspicious that the "data" about Fridays being super low was absolutely BS. They cite data but never show the raw data - huge red flag. They're lying just like they lie about so much else. Place is Gaslight Inc.

Camp A: I know many slackers, who are slackers in the office and at home, and who use Fridays to catch up on chores etc. Good on them. They’ve managed to do the bare minimum and still get paid. Whats the incentive to go above & beyond?

Camp B: I also know many higher performers, who go above & beyond, whether in office or at home, and use Fridays to do focused work.

All I’m saying, is those in Camp B are choosing companies where flexibility, delivery, output & results is what’s valued.

In a recession & in a market where AI is replacing jobs, companies more than ever, need those in Camp B but they’re leaving at mass.

Again, Fiserv is short term focused & don’t care about the impact of losing highly skilled professionals.

Glad they see Sapience and slackers get fired. you are dead weight and stock is up as a result.

In a recession, who do companies most need? Who will build their sophisticated AI products?

The answer: Highly skilled professionals.

Who’s first to jump ship when rigid, archaic practices are introduced & their performance is not rewarded: Highly skilled professionals with many options to choose from.

The war on talent is real.

Fiserv, you are a fool.

Pay attention people. Look at the economy. We're a fintech. You don't think Fiserv didn't see the recession coming?

They started Sapience and five days in office to cut the low hanging fruit. Next, is the mid-hanging.

Ban your bellies and wallets. Pay off credit card debt. Start growing your own food.

Hard times are coming for us and have already arrived for many.

We are complaining because being a technology company, we should be advanced enough to work at home at least 2 days a week. This entire tracking system clearly doesn't work and you're firing people based on data that is incorrect. Get with the times and stop managing the company like is 1970s. All these 1970s CEO mentality need to retire already. It doesn't morale nor does it promote teamwork or respect for our leadership team. Stand up to Frank and whoever is mandating 5 days/9hrs in the office!! Furthermore, some people are content not being promoted and giving 150% to their current role. Not everyone wants a promotion. Some of us are dedicated to our jobs and want to deliver great results.

Or the software wasn't able to handle switching networks. Shouldn't you be bragging about how much better the sapience numbers were last week? If there was a dramatic improvement, then you should be rubbing the numbers in everyone's faces. Or were you just lying about the numbers from the beginning?

Monitoring Sapience on Fridays was strategic. What if WFH was on Wednesdays, might have had different outcome.

But of course it was supposed to be only for people to help their own productivity, and not to be a measure for production. At least that what’s the lie they told was.

If all leaders do when it comes to management is analyzing peoples productivity based on sapience, you might as well be replaced by AI. Deadweight who plays politics all day and offers no productivity let along leadership.

Love the cr-p replies. Pre Covid if you earned it you could work from home one day a week, other roles were full time remote. THAT is how it was, period. To the poster talking about Sapience data for Fridays, Sapience is NOT accurate, it never has been. It’s old , it’s clunky, and is not a perfect fit for its purpose. It’s also not designed for every role in the company. These are facts. The whole “it’s in the data” is a farce. Lastly, the OP is right if you’re gonna do it, one size fits all. If you’re an RM and you have an office nearby get in the damn office.

You individual contributors have no clue. when we look at Sapience, the Fridays for the entire org drop significantly. That is why you are called back into the office, it’s not rocket science. the data tells us that you are slacking off while home.

You fools continue with the lie that pre covid that everyone was in an office. More than 25 years and never from any office.

the few folks that got fully remote are highly talented. you don’t fall in that bucket apparently so need to come into office. pre-covid was 5 days so not sure why people are complaining so much.
