why its not changing?

why most D/SVP dont even have basic knowledge? Now i see team leads want to secure their old buddies and fire new ones, who ever comes here for better future were targeted with politics and make sure they left asap, most of the leads are narrow minded and want to keep their old friend and fire new ones. seems its a loop it never changes. Unitl top management realize this.

$hittybank Corporate 1984 Orwellian Doublespeak. $hittybank HR is calling the Demotions "Career Growth".

What part of the other Posters' posts are disinformation or distractions?? Citi's outdated "technology", processes and policies that caused Free Money US$900 Million to be accidentally wired to Revlon's Creditors (plural)?? Or is it the constant influx of new or supplemental monetary fines, MRIAs, MRAs and Consent Orders from the Government Regulators including but Not limited to Model and Data Governance Fvck Ups because of Citi's prehistoric "technology"??
Or is the "disinformation" about the forced bell curve and forced Lower Ratings of Employees who should be Rated 1s and 2s But are Forced into 3s and 4s or even PIPs so that Citi does Not increase Salaries, Bonuses as well as Citi lowering already comical 20% In-Seat Promotions Down To 1% ?? All of this Valuable Information has been reported by the Media (Financial Times, NY Times, etc.). Anyone who's Not CitiDense (Not Citi HR, MDs, Ds and Executive "Management") can Google all of this.
Citi.......The TragiComedy of Banks. The $900 Million Wire Error is just one of thousands of Citi's Comedy of Errors over the decades!

And then, they themselves quit $hittybank and Chase the Money elsewhere, usually at similar Low Caliber/Tier companies. Many of Deutsche, BNY Mellon's, State Street Bank's new hires, new as in tenure < 3 years, are from $hittybank.

Most of the senior managers at Citi got to that position by playing politics and pushing down their competition. Mostly g00ks who lack business or technical knowledge, but are apt at playing dirty politics to go up the ladder. That is the stereotypical senior manager at Citi. They then start playing the power struggle among themselves. Hence no real progress is ever made. But this status quo is acceptable at senior management level at Citi because it ensures job security at those levels. Why rock the boat when you can get away by blaming other teams and pointing fingers at your directs? Self preservation by senior managers is paramount at Citi.

@1jel+1w1Qjzkh I agree with you. Most of the Directors here at Citi are clueless, don’t have any basic knowledge of management, they do not have any visions, that’s one of the reasons the transformation is failing. All they do is just sitting and talking in meetings.

Many of the SVP/D has lesser knowledge than an individual contributor. They only tell people what to do and they do nothing to resolve the problem, they also play politics by withholding information or give wrong information to others to make themselves feel like more superior than the others. They should be the one restructured out by the company, cannot see any value from many of them at all.

I have also seen incompetent C16 keeping incompetent C15 around who is willing to do their (C16) dirty work for them, things they are supposed to do but can't do, like put together meaningless dog-pony show, do their compliance paperwork, their budgeting work. And the incompetent C15 then pass that work down to C14 who ends up doing the work of the C16.

As some employees have pointed out in other posts , Citi is run like the m@fia from top to bottom. The culture is based on managers favoring their cronies for hiring, promotion, and job retention. Others are shown the door as soon as possible, especially if they don’t have a taste for joining the cronies group of their manager. The culture is not going to ever change because it is prevalent at all levels of the hierarchy. Monkey see, monkey do.
