Tell me about the great new FTO policy and tell me to use my month of PTO right before you lay me off. You knew this was coming. Hope my small contribution to your balance sheet helps because it hurts me tremendously. What a low, low, awful thing to do to your (former) employees. Glad to be gone. Pay attention NetApp employees, they do not give a #$#@ about you or what you sacrifice.

@1j9 I think what he was saying is that PTO gets paid out for the current layoffs. It is the layoffs months from now - after the burndown of accrued days where you do not get paid out because your PTO balance will be down to zero.
what a stupid thing to say. this guy had a month of pay banked, the execs told him to burn it as quickly as possible. Then they laid him off and now he doesn't have the extra month of cushion and netapp has one more month of pay in the cash column. Those that don't understand the pto->fto without compensation, just stop commenting please because you are either mo--ns or netapp interns trying to sway folks.
@a6 You didn’t lose any banked PTO unless you were burning it off in anticipation of unlimited PTO. That’s the US policy at least. The new PTO policy doesn’t even start until end of October.
I wish you well and sorry you were impacted. I know a lot of good people who were let go.
Any details on severance? Was remaining PTO paid out? Which orgs and units are affected?
@ab must be a management shill.
Why is no one saying which department they were in?
@be laid off for real ? Which department? Severance granted ? Tell more
@ab I was laid off... you are not paying attention, dont know anybody in the company, or in leadership and a liar.
did they atleast give severance ?
@aa There's a special place in h_ll for these execs.
@OP Hideous company and feckless management, especially in Product. No need to feel bad at all. Run as fast as you can.
@ab You are incorrect, I know someone who was laid off today without warning.
@ab You're incorrect. Lots of reports.
there are no news of layoffs, its a fake news
IMHO…. FTO is a was to introduce more competition between team member and make people feel guilty for taking more vacation than their teammates. This reduces the amount of time employees will want to take off. They don’t want to be “the one” that takes more time than their teammates next person. It’s a joke. They spin it like it’s a positive thing for the employees. Everyone knows that a bunch of cr-p. It’s all about reducing the liability on the books and make the execs look good.
Yep, it stinks. I think of all those days off I wanted to take earlier this year but I was banking my vacation for the holidays and spring break. Then when they announced FTO I didn’t want to take “unnecessary” vacation and be a burden to my team so I left my vacation untouched. All that gone, plus the job that I really enjoyed. I for one, am sad.
Anyone wonder how Pure just overtook us in market cap? Hey folks in charge, its not just your quarterly numbers, its people.
This fu--ing su-ks, the company has lost it. It’s just a matter of time for everyone. Which department?
