I was let go this morning. Six of us in total from my team. Payments. We all worked remote. I feel so bad for my manager. This is her 4th round of layoffs this year.

Optum is pretty large but I personally haven't found this site to be a good predictor for my department. I got caught up in the hype for this one in January and also the one back in July. My org did have four rounds layoffs last year but everytime I found out about after the fact typically by scheduled meetings for the survivors in the late morning. I suppose the takeaway is any week an employee can get laid off.

I was just on a humdrum call with 60 people about an ongoing business deal. No one missing. Just one data point I admit, but with people claiming 25-30% of the entire company being fired today I was anticipating at least a few people not attending.

Nobody I know has been laid off. But think of this, the company employs over 400,000. If 1,000 people in Minneapolis lost their jobs what are the odds you personally would know most of them?

Layoffs happened today - my team lost people - typical for this company. Expect it sooner or later.

Either it’s been delayed or this was a very successful social engineering (at least it messed me up all week).

@a3 as a frequent reader of the site I’d say it’s definitely more than 17% accurate. There have been no postings about layoffs for awhile until early December which predicted this one. To say that posts don’t spike near layoffs is a lie. However, the accuracy of how many people is generally up for debate.

Even small layoffs were called out in November and December where I lost coworkers.

Not saying there aren’t people agitating an already stressful situation but I’ve seen most called out correctly.

Don't trust this site. Most posters are ex employees that cannot seem to let it go. My thorough analysis over the past two years is a 17.3% correct projection. This is mostly due that every Thursday they say something is happening.
