I don't know what info you have, but I am skeptical of this. I'm not remote (in fact I'm quite jealous of those who are), but many remote FTEs are absolutely crucial to Kroger's operations. My current team is extremely important, and the majority of our members are remote FTEs including the most important roles. If they were laid off, there would be quite literally no one who could replace them. They're the only ones who know how our sh-t works.
Also, I'm sure there's people working remote right now for disability reasons (whether real or made up to avoid the office) and I'm sure Kroger couldn't just lay off a bunch of people for something they can't control.
If they go through with what your describing that would be undoubtedly the stupidest decision they've made yet throughout this RTO situation and would cause incredible damage to the company. If this is real, I appreciate you sharing, but I'll believe it when I see it.
