Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The 350 that were cut in May, what type of employees were they?

Based on your observations, were these employees understandably let go due to performance reasons or was it just a general cut? Did any of the cuts surprise you?

I happened to have gotten cut, as a full timer. In the past, others would get let go, but I'd understand why. They usually weren't pulling their weight.

It was a blind layoff. They let go of most of the people and soon realised that they needed them back, so they called most of them back.

High and low performers alike. Do not think for a second that being a high performer will save you. If your department/team is being cut, it will not matter. A team close to mine got ENTIRELY eliminated and there were plenty of high performers in there.
Source: I am in the department that was cut.

The only 5 year + project that exists at Ford is kissing a$$ and simping to your LL+.

High performers and low alike. Didn't matter. When someone tells you you have 5+ years of work - never belive them. Unless its a skilled trade and there is clearly 5 years of work you can see with your eyes. Never belive what they say, only what they do and what you can see. Blind faith makes you poor.

Many were solid performers from those that I know were let go.
Only one that i know was a supervisor with no technical knowledge or skillset and had been hired through friendship
The rest were due to working on something that was no longer needed - which we will see a lot of coming up...for example anyone that was on FNV4 in development

Was cut with high performance reviews and assured what I was working on would be 5 year + project. It was a general cut
