Leaders making sure Dan’s AI week is a flop

There is a fundamental disconnect between Dan’s stated ambition around AI-led transformation and the behavior being driven by current leadership.

Leaders are not just failing to prioritize upskilling—they are actively deprioritizing and, in many cases, dismissing learning initiatives as non-essential.
Immediate operational demands are consistently positioned above capability building, effectively preventing employees from investing in AI and future-ready skills.

I want to provide this feedback. Where can I provide that?

The (Bottom Line) is that (No Matter What) Corporate (AI Workforce Displacement) is going to (Increase) into 2027 (at least) -

  • A (Perfect) recent example is Oracle who just (Prioritized) Ai spending over Employees by laying off 25,000 on W, 4/1/26.

  • Employees are (Always) considered a line-item (Expense) due to the (Cost) of salary, and benefits by a Corporation.

  • AI RPA (Robotic Process Automation), and other AI efficiencies contribute to the Corporate bottom line.

Per the LEI - Leading Economic Index, a Major Recession is enroute > 2027.

@OP If you go to the good morning v team newsletter, at the bottom is the link to submit ideas to Dan. If I had feedback, I'd utilize that form, and just start out with I didn't know how else to share this feedback so they know that you know. I'd prob also share some ideas for solutions so you aren't viewed as just a complainer.

The Verizon way of training is to learn while you are working since there is not enough people, and Verizon does not want to pay overtime.

You have to do it on your little free time to get it done.
Which is not good since that skill will be gone in 3 to 5 years due to A.I.

To really see an impact from AI the operational teams need breathing space to learn and experiment…right now the Verizon machine is broken and employees are suffocating

@a8 That’s the point, if they want people to upskill, give us dedicated time to learn and upskill.
Otherwise it’s a flop

@a5 for real. I’m doing three people’s jobs. I don’t need the extra burden of reviewing Gemini’s work and fixing its omissions and hallucinations.

Who has time to upskill when they demolished the teams already? We’re still trying to pick up the pieces

Lmao good luck thinking your feedback matters. There is zero authenticity or care to do good work by all levels of leadership. It’s a giant toxic sorority where assimilation is required and critical thinking is punished.

The all-hands Q&A is pretty much the only way to make our voices heard — otherwise no one cares about our opinions
